Heather Powell, the founder of Feather Yoga Studio, was introduced to yoga at Prana Yoga Studio in Miami, FL in 2001. While living in Miami, Heather’s yoga practices helped her stay balanced while juggling a career with demanding international travel, an evening MBA program, marathons and triathlons. Upon completion of her MBA she was hired at Cisco Systems. Her Cisco career took her to North Carolina and then to Newport Beach, CA. Listening to her dharma, she left Cisco Systems as a Global Account Manager to purse her passion for yoga and teaching. Heather completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at YogaWorks in Southern California in 2007 and relocated back to Yakima, WA after 17 years away. In December 2009, Heather Powell earned her Experience Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) title with over 1000 hours of teaching. She is a fully insured and Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. Heather is committed to her self-study and daily yoga practice along with attending regular workshops with Kofi Busia and other senior teachers.
